FAMILY THERAPY

Family therapy enables 2 or more members of a family system to come together and work through issues and disconnects that are causing disruption within the family unit. Families are composed of unique individuals that all play different roles, but all hold equal value, and contribute to the overall functioning of the group. Even when one family member is struggling or is out of sync with another member, it affects the entire dynamic, and everyone must adjust in order for the family to function effectively. Engaging in therapy as family members can be incredibly affective, because it will allow your therapist to help you restructure your family to create a healthy, trusting, and supportive family environment.

"Feelings of worth can flourish only in an atmosphere where individual differences are appreciated, mistakes are tolerated,
communication is open, and rules are flexible-
the kind of atmosphere that is found in a nurturing family."
-Virginia Satir
